At Great Beginnings Preschool (GBPS), we hold the belief that young children thrive when they engage with both people and materials, and when they have the autonomy to select activities that broaden their understanding.

Our enjoyable, play-based activities are tailored to foster STEAM-based learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math). Children are innate inquirers, and as educators, we facilitate their learning journey by posing open-ended questions, encouraging them to observe and reflect on their interactions with diverse materials.

Science & Technology

Science is all about exploring the world around us! In our preschool, we love to conduct simple experiments to learn about plants, animals, and the weather. For example, we might plant seeds and watch them grow, or mix colors to see what happens.

​Technology helps us understand how things work and how we can use tools to solve problems. In our classroom, we might use simple devices like magnifying glasses or binoculars to observe nature up close.

Mathematics & Engineering

Math is everywhere, even in our everyday activities! We practice counting during circle time, sort objects by color or shape, and play games that involve matching and patterns. We might use blocks to learn about sizes, shapes & weight!

Engineering is like being a little inventor! We love to build and create with blocks, Legos, and other materials. Sometimes we build bridges for our toy cars to cross, or tall towers just to see how high we can go! It's all about using our imaginations to solve problems and make things!

Art

Art is where we get to be super creative and express ourselves! We love to paint, draw, sculpt with play-dough, and create collages with different materials. Dramatic play is a key component of our daily activities and allows our kids to grow socially while using their imagination.

Whether we're making a colorful masterpiece or a 3D sculpture, art time is always full of fun and laughter!

Our STEAM based curriculum is woven throughout our day. Circle time, guided exploration, playground fun, snack and free-play all create a balanced and exciting day for our students.
